This part of the land was beautiful. Stunning. And the orange and white stallion was the only one to have stepped foot on it. At least for a long time. The whole land of Kavi had an unlived in look, and he dearly hoped that that didn't mean there were no Kavi or similar mares to find. He snorted to himself. Anyways, this was the best parcel of land he had found, and he had seen no signs of a stallion. He had left plenty himself, actually over the whole land of Kavi, but he had done some exploring here, and there were plenty of hoof prints and shed hair to let anyone coming in he was here. He thought about bellowing out a claim, but knew for a fact there were none but the birds to hear him. So with a snort, he claimed the land. None would have it without going through him first, and he knew he was more than a formidable opponent with the skills he hid down deep.

Elly was simply trying to get through this part of Kavi. Preferably she would take the long way around, but she didn't feel like dealing with other horses at the moment. And this country hadn't seen a habitant in ages. Just others like her, on the move, going somewhere with no intentions of stopping. The one good thing was that it was scenic. But she made a point of not going to far to east, where she knew the remains of her mother still lay. Some of them had been blown away, but the large bones still showed the shape of Corinthia, right down to her broken front cannon bone. Elly shook her head a snorted at herself, "Stop with these thoughts, focus on where you're going. You don't want to end up like her do you?" Something caught Elly's attention, changing her thoughts more effectively than simply telling herself to change them. It was a pile of dung, dark, fresh. There were marks all around it. Someone was trying to make their presence known. Whoever it was was too close for her own comfort, Shi... Hello? She spotted the flashy paint just up ahead. Not bad... Muscular, but not too bulky. A stud for sure. Suddenly he snorted, and Elly jumped slightly, bumped a tree nearby and sent a loud crack echoing after his claiming cry. Turn? Run? Probably not the most socially acceptable behavior... But it may be the safest bet right now. Instead, Elly lifted her nose and continued on her original path. Hoping that in his male ignorance he hadn't heard her.

Stallion was blissfully unaware of another's presence until someone whacked into a tree. He turned around quickly, immediately tapping into her thoughts. He had to stifle a smile at what he heard. Turn? Run? Probably not the most socially acceptable behavior... But it may be the safest bet right now. Twinkling blue and rose eyes watched her progress, knowing she was merely just trying to move through the land. What? You aren't going to stay and chat? he called, using his voice while she still knew nothing of his power. For all he knew, she had the same and was already reading his own. He paused his thoughts. Then he continued. One, she had not laughed at that thought. And two, she wasn't thinking anything about his thoughts, which she would be if she indeed had the same power. He twitched his strawberry roan and white pelt, hating the flies for their tenacious persistency. They never completely left you alone, although in winter they were pretty scarce. He almost wished he had decided to become a Dipakan after he separated from his parents, because it was winter almost year long over there. But he jerked his thoughts back to the mare traversing his lands, not wanting to miss what she had to say. Or think.

Elly winced as she heard the stallion speak. Why can't they all be ignorant... It would make like so much simpled Now that she had been found she knew it would be taboo to do anything other than speak civilly to the stud. And so she stopped her careful movement through the land and turned herself to face the stallion, sure to keep plenty of room between them, just in case. She already knew what could happen with studs this time of year, especially ones that don't have any other mares near by... She stopped her thought there, knowing she was being completely hypocritical. Instead she raised her head and looked the paint in the eyes. Woah, eyes. She wasn't sure whether it was the way the light caught them, but both of the other horse's eyes were different colours. Very different. Eyes you can get lost in, check. Good body, check. Free to fall in love at the moment? No Elly, you're not. Stop with the school filly crushes. Instead, Elly focused her mind on taking the cat out of her mouth and saying something. She tried and tried to come up with something witty, and when nothing came forth she concentrated instead on just saying something. And still no words came out. Finding socializing more difficult than she had originally perceived, Elly just dropped her head and picked up a mouthful of grass. Jeeeezus flies. Would you all just bugger off? Thank God Dipaka, and snow, is so close. If I can get out of here soon, I'll be able to roll in the white stuff before the moon shines. Finally words came, though more harshly than she had prepared. Why would anybody want this place? Oh my... Could you be any ruder? I mean, it's pretty and everything, and you know, has grass... but ummmm... Elly trailed off again. Talking had been so easy with her mother, but strangers was a completely different story. the flies around here are terrible. And then she stopped everything she was doing and waited to she how angry she had made the other horse, preparing to run if his fury became physical.

Again, he tried is best to stifle a smile as her thoughts entered his mind. Why can't they all be ignorant... It would make life so much simpler. He wished he could reply, but then again, she would do her best to shut down her thoughts if she knew he was listening in. She stopped a good distance away. She was being extra careful of him. especially ones that don't have any other mares near by... was her thought, at least the one she put into words. You have nothing to fear from me. he told her quietly, hoping she would just take it as he had seen the distance she kept between them and deduce from that. Then she brought her eyes to his, and he couldn't help but smile at her immediate thought. Woah, eyes. Then, as her thoughts stemmed from there, he had to look away. If he had been a human, a blush would have colored his cheeks. These were the kind of things mares didn't say out loud for a reason. Eyes you can get lost in, check. Good body, check. Free to fall in love at the moment? No Elly, you're not. Stop with the school filly crushes. Elly? was that her name? or just a nickname she called herself in her thoughts? He hoped to know before long. She was a character. And then she proceeded to try to think up something to say out loud. He was tempted to tell her she didn't really need to say anything, that her thoughts were enough, but he didn't want to seem intrusive. He would have a good time telling her later he had read all her thoughts, but it would also be fun to answer every thought in a row until she accused him of reading her thoughts. Then he would just agree. She'd be flabbergasted. Jeeeezus flies. Would you all just bugger off? Thank God Dipaka, and snow, is so close. If I can get out of here soon, I'll be able to roll in the white stuff before the moon shines. So, was she Dipakan? or just traveling to Dipaka where there were little to no flies this time of year? You could also only breed one season of the year, but some weren't as put off by that as he was. She then spoke, but her thoughts in between the words made him realize she didn't mean to sound as harsh as she did. She was probably just curious. His look was one of quiet amusement as she finished. I have to say, the green grass nearly year round and the lack of snow year round appeals to me. he told her, comparing his land to Dipaka, the land she obviously wanted to be in. Added to that, I'm not a real cold person. One cold season a year is enough to hold me over. he finished with a smile.

How did he know that she planned on going to Dipaka? Or was it merely a coincidence that he compared these lands of Kavi so clearly to her destination? I don't think so... Instead of worrying about that she again focused her thoughts on speaking, and this time she wouldn't be so rude. And yet, she still found herself tongue tied. It had never been this hard around anyone else. I'd take cold over flies, I actually kind of like the snow. It's so cool and refreshing. And so fun to play in. And then when it melts there's that really nice smell. And snow makes everything look so clean and-- Stop. Stop, Stop. You're rambling. The abrupt stop of Elly's verbal diarrhea left the entire area silent. She hadn't realized how quiet it was here until now. Why was that? Elly shifted her weight back and forth a few times, nervous habit. Stuck once again with no word she just waited. Stared into the stallion's eyes. Starstruck. He's like a god or something... Oh my GOD. What if he IS a God. I've never met one of the Gods. Oh no I just insulted their lands. No. Wait, Scientia is the Goddess of Kavi. Scientia is a mare. At the worst she was speaking to a God, but not the Goddess of Kavi.
ooc: Sorry this is so lame. I was distracted by eating quiche. Which was amazing, fyi.
