{{ G y p s y Won't confess all my sins You can bet I'll try it But you can't always win Walking over the rolling hills, the gray mare noticed that the lands had changed from a crystal white to a dirt-like brown. The rustic hues were not terrible, but a little more comforting and warming. She stood out like a sore thumb, being a lightly dappled grey with a silver mane and tail; predators would easily spot her from miles away... not like it mattered too much, she was pretty good at defending for herself. Not perfect, but good enough. Looking ahead, she saw the dark grey sky through the dead limbs of the trees. Twigs fell when the breeze collected, the leaves crisp under her hooves. Stopping by a rock, she simply took a good look around the lands. It looked dead and empty.
Perking her audits, she let out a lout whinny, hearing her own voice echo from some of the hills. She stood for a while longer, hearing no reply, and that's when she felt depressed and alone. Grey mare was not one to have much time alone, nor was she comfortable with spending her whole life in a territory that belonged to no one. Or maybe this did belong to someone, she just didn't realize it yet. Shaking her head, she snorted loudly and took off at an easing and relaxing canter, tail flying high behind her, her dished profile high in the sky. If she was alone, she might as well make herself feel better instead of feeling depressed and dark.

The unmarked mare had been grazing quite contentedly to herself. It was spring, and though Dipaka was still frigid, the grasses were beginning to sprout up. Life had returned once again to the plains. Her head held in a lazy, uncaring manner, Whisper chewed as her unseeing eyes stared out across the open expanse, her expression blank. Her eyes did not move, but her ears seemed to make up for them. They swiveled about, catching every sound that fell. She could not see where she was, but she could hear it.
The mare had been standing there for some time, lost in her own, dimwitted thoughts. That was, until a shrill whinny cracked the silence. It echoed far and wide through the valley, and before it ever finished, Whisper's posture straightened. Her slack jaw shut tightly as she swallowed the lump of grass that had been in her mouth. Her ears shot straight up, her head seemingly pulled upward with them. It was an attentive stance, one betraying none of the curiosity that now peaked within the mare. The call had been feminine; another mare perhaps?
Snorting lightly, Whisper pondered the idea of making a return call. It had been ages since she had been near another horse. It confused her to no end how she could have possibly avoided one for so long. Hell, how she ever got separated from her herd in the first place was a mystery to her. Yet, somehow, she was beginning to think they had abandoned her. But that wouldn't be nice. She thought to herself, slowly making her way towards where she could hear hoof beats. They wouldn't do that, would they? She asked herself aloud, unaware that the hoof beats were dangerously close at this point.

Hooves moved quickly, her legs spreading and taking her over a great distance in a short amount of time. Closing her eyes, she pushed herself to move faster, banner flying behind her and her mane dancing with the wind. Flickering her audits, she tossed her head to the side, letting out a wild kick to the side, snorting and having a blast. This would be much better with someone else here... thought Gypsy, only telling herself to move forward. With time, she'll run into someone. Right? She couldn't possibly be the only one here, was she? Shaking her head, she slowed her gate as she noticed another equine figure ahead.
Noticing that her speed was too great, Gypsy slid to a halt, nostrils flaring. This other grey horse was a mare, similar to herself. Just a bit. Shaking her head, she listened to the mare speak aloud, and tilting her head, she snorted gently. "Who wouldn't do what?" she asked, not even realizing if she could possibly startle the mare.

The sound of hooves skidding across the and a loud snort brought the mare out of her thoughts. The world flashed around her, a shape becoming visible to her mind's eye. She was large; sturdy, yet keeping a feminine aura. Her breathing was what kept her visible to the blind mare. With each heave of her chest, a sharp breath being exhaled, Whisper became more aware of her surroundings. Her body went stiff, her mind tugging at the urges to flee that so coursed through her body.
Her ears standing still, pointed directly at the stranger, Whisper looked as if she might bolt at any minute. Yet she remained, still as ever. It was a long beat after the mare spoke when Whisper answered, having finally registered what she said. The others. She said plainly, one ear flicking behind her as if she could hear them approaching. The others wouldn't leave me behind like that. Her voice was but a whisper, barely audible over the vague winds. It was ghostlike, as if she was there only in body, and that her mind and spirit had gone far away from that place. Whisper was there, but not truly there.
Slowly but surely, though, she seemed to return. Her body slackened once more, a lazy, almost stupid expression washing over her face. It was a blank look, Whisper's blind innocence to the world around her being strongly evident. Who are you? She blurted, now chewing lazily at her cud.

There was only two things that registered in Gypsy's mind; this mare was crazy, or something from her past still impacted her till this day. She wasn't sure which one it would be, but she would find out. Someday, somehow. She simply nodded her head and took a good look around the lands. "I didn't catch any scents until now..." dapple grey mare looked at the mare. The mare had a blank face, her body now relaxing, and as Gypsy took a closer look at her, she noticed a white like film over the mare's eyes. "Are you blind?" the question leaked from her lips, said oh-so bluntly, and she really didn't mean it to sound that way, but it did. "I mean, well..." there was no way of taking that one back, so if it offended her or not, she'll have to deal because it merely slipped.
"I'm Gypsy." Dapple grey mare spoke slowly, a bit embarrassed about her question from earlier. She honestly didn't want to have this mare think badly of her, not only that, but it wasn't a good first impression. Gypsy wasn't any better; she was nothing but a whore for attention and love. Love that never seemed to come her way.

Whisper giggled at the other mare's first words. A small smile graced her lips, her face contorting with it. Yet her eyes stared blankly ahead, poisoning the warm expression with the dead look they brought. That's because they're hiding. It was Whisper's only explanation for why they had left her. It was what she told herself and any other creature she came across. That the entire herd had been playing a great game with her, one that few other truly understood. They hadn't abandoned her; no, they were simply hiding from her, waiting for her to come find them. You can't smell them because they're hiding so well. Her tone was childish, as if her body had matured and yet her mind had been left sheltered.
Now suddenly very animated, Whisper's smile never seemed to wane. This mare had proved to be of no harm; granted, she didn't know much about her, but she hadn't tried to drive her off yet, had she? Her tail flicking about behind her, the white mare barely caught the stranger's words as her thoughts were already moving so quickly. Snorting back more laughter, Whisper gave her acquaintance a joking look of disbelief. What kind of question is that? Of course I am! She chimed, prancing about now, her feet clumsy across the earth.
Whisper was by no means the most graceful creature. She was pretty by some standards, but only when she was still. She could never run fast; not unless she was with others to guide her way. She often tripped over things, or walked head first into larger objects. Not being the brightest, this confuses Whisper, leading to one of her childish outbursts.
Pausing, her nose stretching out towards the mare, newly known as Gypsy, Whisper took a deep breath of her scent, not noting how rude it might seem. I'm Whisper. She mumbled, her lips reaching out to carefully groom Gypsy's hide. You're pretty. She blurted, pulling back and giggling again. Having someone around again felt good, and Whisper never wanted to be alone again.

This mare was still a foal at heart. She pranced around, her voice filled with life, but the only thing that contradicted that was her dead eyes. Gypsy was glad, however, that she had not offended the mare in anyway. She didn't want to run her off of course. Today was a good day, in general. At first, she was unsure about how this day would go, but she found it surprisingly pleasing when coming across another mare. Especially one that looked similar to her, just taller. The mare pushed her nose out toward her, and her lips grazed gently across Gypsy's neck, and with that, she blurted out how pretty she was. Happy, but confused, Gypsy smiled, "Thanks, but how can you tell? You can't see, right?" A silly question to be asked, but she was curious as to how Whisper judged things. She had to have years of practice under her belt, and how comfortable Whisper was around Gypsy surprised her. How could she have her awareness down? What if Gypsy was just playing a game? "It's nice to meet another equine around here, Whisper. And it sure if a pleasure to meet you" Gypsy smiled, enjoying Whisper's presence.
OOC: Awh! Whisper is so cute! I love her!

Whisper giggled again, her upper lip curling as she laughed. I don't see. She began, her voice airy and light. I hear. Her ears twitched, as if introducing themselves in turn. They remained stiffly pointed at Gypsy though, as the taller mare seemed to still be analyzing her. The vibrations from their voices had begun to quiet down, and slowly the world faded to black once more. Whisper sobered up a little, taking a hesitant step backwards, as if she were afraid she would run into her new acquaintance. When things get quiet, I get lost. She murmured, shrinking back into herself once more.
Standing there in the misty spring air, Whisper began to look more and more like an abandoned foal. The glazed expression of a sickly animal returned to the mare's gaze, and her breathing became shallow. Her shoulders drooped and her legs seemed as if they had begun to lean to one side. Gypsy was forgotten, for the time being. All that remained was Whisper and the gnawing loneliness that had become her life. I know they wouldn't leave me. She murmured again, a bitter tinge to her words. It's just a game. It's all just a game. OOC; Whisper's gettin' creepy xD

Silver mare nodded, listening carefully and trying to figure out how that worked out. She never fully comprehended what Whisper was saying nor did she have an idea how she did it. None of it made sense to her, but she left it the way it was and accepted it, somehow. Someway. Flickering her audits and cocking one of her hind legs, she flicked her tail to the side, swatting the flies that clustered in one area. "So by hearing, you understand everything?" she asked, but her voice quiet towards the end. Listening to Whisper, she took a step or two back. Was Whisper okay? Or was she a little mentally disabled? Snorting gently, Gypsy walked over to her and nudged her neck. "Whisper?" her voice was quiet, smooth, and soothing. "I walked through these lands and didn't find a soul until I met you..." looking into her blind eyes, Gypsy sighed gently. "Maybe they didn't leave you, Whisp. How long have you been waiting here, like this?"
[/justify] OOC: Gypsy is starting to think Whisp needs some help, mentally. LOL

Gypsy sounded confused. Whisper couldn't think of why. Was it really that hard to understand? She didn't see in the way most people thought, but she did see. She couldn't decipher colours or patterns, but she could tell textures and shapes. She could see how tall Gypsy was, and how feminine her build was. She could see her backing away, her expression concerned and a bit frightened. Though her stance never faltered, Whisper crumbled slightly inside. Was she really so awful? Was she to scare away the only other horse she had seen in years? Her voice was so soothing, so caring; Whisper wanted to reach out and nuzzle it.
Yet she refrained. At Gypsy's touch, a bright smile lit up her features. I've been waiting so very long. She chirped, a laugh playing at her words. But none of that matters now! Her voice had grown even more excited, and her body seemed to mimic it. Her spine straightened once more, and her hooves danced at the ground, trampling the young grass that brushed at them. It doesn't matter how long I've been here, or where everyone else went. She said again, shaking her mane and taking a small step closer to Gypsy. None of it matters because now I've got you.
She smiled gleefully at the face she could not see, the sounds around her falling dead in the air and her world going dark once more. Her laugh was so cheerful, and her smile so sincere, yet her dead eyes gazed forward ever still, revealing what lay beneath the facade. OOC; Gypsy has good reason to sneak off soon xD

It was a strange feeling, like she had to be with Whisper. She seemed like a child still, though she was probably at an age where she could take care of herself. But even so, Gypsy felt like she had to be here with Whisper... no matter what. She had to be there for her until the end, right? How could she just walk away and leave? It wasn't that easy, not anymore. "I've been waiting so very long.. But none of that matters now!It doesn't matter how long I've been here, or where everyone else went. None of it matters because now I've got you." This caught Gypsy off guard, and though she didn't have the heart to leave Whisper, she felt concerned. Not only was her life upon her shoulders, but now she had to take care of another being, Whisper. Taking a step closer, she nuzzled Whisper's neck and grinned. "I'll always be here for you, Whisp. Always."
Always was a long commitment, basically for life; was she really going to make that commitment? Nothing mattered, just like Whisper said, and Gypsy was willing to stay by her side. What motivated her to say that? Loneliness? Pity? Or true friendship? Maybe it was a mixture of all of it; who would ever know? Gypsy, herself, had no idea.

Always. What a sweet word that was. It rang in Whisper's ears, sending small chills down her spine. She went still, though her posture was kept straight. Behind the haze of her blindness, one could see a small sparkle in her eyes. Always? She repeated, half disbelieving the beautiful mare. She was gorgeous, and Whisper knew herself to not be. What would a mare like Gypsy be doing around one such as herself? Doubt crept into the blind horse's mind, but she shoved it forcefully aside. Nothing would ruin this. Not even the smallest of infractions.
A grin spreading across her muzzle, a burst of energy came forth from the snowy animal. Whisper reared playfully, only to run off blindly into the dark world in sharp circles. She kicked her heels, her tail thrashing about behind her. Everything was right in the world. She had Gypsy, and though she felt as if their fragile new friendship might break at any moment, the feeling that she even had one was overwhelming.
Her hooves beat steadily into the earth, sending small bits of new grass into the air. Whisper was so happy she couldn't contain it. She could not see where she was, as all was silent, but she didn't care. Nothing could stop her now! Not her blindness, not her slow wit, not even the shallow pit that lay straight ahead of her, threatening to swallow her legs right out from beneath her. She could not see it, yet ran directly towards it. Laughing all the while, Whisper knew not what was to happen within mere seconds. OOC; LOOK OUT FOR THE TRAIN OMG.
