the FOUR-ONE-ONE.
This site is a Fantasy Equine RPG, meaning, unrealistic things will occur. There are five main Goddess' and Gods' (read plot for more information). Equines here may have powers, unique colors, and abnormal traits. These rules were created so we could all get along and have no troubles understanding where we stand. Please do not ask questions when the answers are written here. Please read every word because it goes further into depth than just the bolded sentence. The rules were created by REKORRA with the help of Issalyn. Please do not steal our work. Please respect and follow each rule. If you feel/think you cannot follow these, do not join. Thank you for reading.
the KEY.
- Normal colored font means the rule is the same.
- Rules written in green means the rule has been added.
- Rules written in red mean the rule has been changed or modified in any way.
in GENERAL.
- Everyone must be treated equally among this site. Please treat everyone with respect, including guests. We will not tolerate harassment, abuse, sexism, racism or anything that follows disrespect. Please think before you say anything to anyone, if you don't want it said to you, then don't say it at all. This is where the "Golden Rule" comes into play.
- Whatever the staff says, goes. Please respect all staff decisions and do not argue with them. If you disagree with what they have to say, tell them politely and with respect. If you cannot get things resolved, PM an admin and let them know the situation. But do it with respect. We do not want PM's of people whining because they didn't get their way. The admin has the last word to everything. That's final.
- Do not drag in character fights, out of character (vice versa). We do not want to receive PM's about this, nor do we want the chat box flooded with hatred. If you feel there is tension between you and another member, try to talk it out through PM's or come PM a staff member so we can help you solve things. Just do not drag in other members and do not flood our chat box. That gets really frustrating.
- Please be thirteen years or older before joining our site. Not only does this go against our rules, but this goes against the Proboards Terms of Use. So please, just be honest when you are registering. We do not need this site to get deleted or get written up because you happen to be twelve years old.
- No perfect characters will be accepted. There are no perfect people, pets, anything in this world. We all have flaws, it's just a part of life. So especially when creating your character, make sure you point out the negative traits/flaws in the character. If we read it and think you're trying to make your character flawless, we will have to decline your registration and you'll have to fix it again.
- No God Modding or Power Playing. This is a rule being repeated over and over from site to site, so I'm sure you know what we're talking about. If not, here's a quick description of what the two are. God Modding is a form of cheating by getting automatic hits and/or controlling the other player's character. Power Playing is when you control the other player's character. Example of GM: Alice leaped over and scratched Jim's face, leaving three claw marks down his cheek. Example of PP: Alice leaped over and scratched Jim's face, leaving three claw marks down his cheek. Jim tried to jump back, but didn't do it in time.
- If you're going to be absent for any reason, please let us know. We all know that role playing is not the center of your universe and understand that people go on vacations or do other things in life. However, please do not just disappear. Please post and let us know a rough time frame you'll be gone. Why? Because if we hold an activity check and you do not post, you could be saved by that one post. So take time out and let us know!
- Cursing is allowed, however, it is limited. Please do not curse in OOC. It is an absolute no-no to curse at one another, even jokingly, because it is hard to take jokes/sarcasm online since you do not see the other person's face. Cursing in character is allowed, but again, do not swear in each sentence. If it suits your character or if your character is mad, you may curse, but don't over-due it or the privilege will be removed from you for a certain amount of time. Don't be like Ozzy Osbourne! ;)
- The chat box is a privilege and should be used casually and for your personal use. Please do not think that having the chat box is a right, because it's not. If you abuse it in any way, shape, or form, we will have it removed or have you removed from it.
- When it comes down to posting, we have several requirements. For starters, we would like you to use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. We have a spell check button, and it's there for a reason. Please use it. Secondly, you may use a Word Document to type up your posts so you know you have the correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Take that extra step to make your posts that much better. Lastly, we'd like you to post at least 200 words per post. It is not terribly hard, simply describe every bit of information. You may post a long post 1,000 words plus (post to your heart's desire), but do not post less than 200 words. Writers block? You can hold off your post or post at least 150 words, but please let us know you have writers block. If this occurs often, you're privilege will be removed and we'll expect more from you. Yes, 150 words when having writers block is a privilege, not a right.
- In character posts or out, we do not want to see chat speak. So, if u typ lyk dis, don't. Break the habit and take the extra time to spell it out. I understand people using, "lol", "brb", etc, but do not typ lyk dis. It's hard enough to read, I don't want to know how long it takes you to type it!
- After creating your character, please wait until a staff member accepts and moves your character biography before role playing your character. Please do not annoy/bug staff members through PM's or through the chat box to look and accept your characters. This will be thought of as harassment and you will get in trouble for it. Please be patient, we usually can get biographies accepted within twenty four hours.
- There is no character limit, so long as you can keep every single character active. However, there is a twist. Within your first week of joining, you may not create more than two characters. If you have a character idea, feel free to create the character but keep it as a WIP (Work in progress) until your time passes up.
- Once you have created your character and the biography has been moved, please claim your character's name. If you do not claim the name, and someone else creates a character with the same name and they claim it before you, then you'll have to rename yours. So be sure you do that!
in CHARACTER.
- Your characters may speak to one another. You may speak in words, not just neighing or whinnying. You may say that as well, but speaking is ok. Please write your posts or have your characters speak in English and English only.
- Liquid time is accepted, but don't do it too much or too often! If you happen to have five threads for one character, that can get over-bearing and too much for one to handle, so please be smart before pushing your character into more than one thread. We suggest you stay at two-three threads per character so you can keep each one active.
- You may fancy up your posts and put color into it, however... please do not put any blinding/neon colors into a post or do not have your colors blend in with the background so it's hard to read.
- We'd prefer you post in third person, but if it's an absolute must, then you may post in first person. Some people cannot type in third person and think first person is much easier. If that's the case, then yes, you may post in first person. However, we think it's much easier to read/write in third person. It's your preference. But we do have one thing to say: Stick with one style of writing. Do not switch it up. If you create a character and begin posting in first person, stick with it. If you don't, you'll confuse us all.
- There may be one Shadow God per member. A Shadow God is a slave to the God's. However, depending on which God you become a slave for, you'll be treated differently. For an example, if Perses got a Shadow God, that Shadow God might be treated with little to no respect and treated more like a slave. Meanwhile, Caelia might have a Shadow God and treat them with a lot of respect and that Shadow God would be more like an apprentice to the God than a slave.
BREEDING/BIRTHING.
- There is a board for breeding/birthing. When you wish to breed your characters, please make sure you create a thread in that board and post there. Do not breed your characters anywhere else. The same goes for birthing of your characters. Where do you go? Please read the descriptions because it will say it there.
- No graphic breeding/birthing posts. This may disrupt your length for posting, but again, describe the scenery and how your character feels or sees things. But do not make it graphic.
- Your characters may only breed/birth in Spring/Summer. Please do not give birth or breed in any other seasons. In the side tables, there will be the season and in there, it'll say if you can breed/give birth. If it does not say so, please do not do it.
FIGHTING.
- Fights may be about almost anything. Fights may range from challenging for land to challenging for mares. Mares may fight stallions and vice versa, however, mares cannot claim land.
- Fights may be done anywhere. There is no specific board for fighting like there is for breeding/birthing. So if you are challenging for land, the fight may take place there. If you are fighting for mares, the fight may take place where the challenge was set up.
- Fights may be done anytime. The only time you may reject fights is when you just got done from a different battle. You may have one week's worth of rest (real time) before accepting another challenge. Meaning? Your character just got done fighting. It hasn't been more than 24-48 hours and another challenge comes up. You may reject that or put that challenge on hold.
- Fights are judged by staff members and staff members only. If a staff member is part of one of the opponents herd, that staff member may not judge the fight. Fights are judged upon the quality of your work, how the post is set up, and the spelling, grammar, and punctuation. There shall be no God Modding or Power Playing, for that is against our rules. The length of your posts doesn't really matter, but make sure it's about the minimum requirement. Lastly, for fighting, you may have up to three hits and three dodges. Once you reach that, you may PM a staff member to judge your fight. (Just remember, if you want to do more hits/dodges, you may. Just talk it over with your opponent).
- If you are in a middle of a fight, and your opponent doesn't respond within three days, you automatically win the fight. This rule goes for anyone, excluding those members who have posted an absence note. So if your opponent specifically said they'll be gone for a certain time period, that means the fight will be put on hold.
CLAIMING LAND.
- Any character may claim any unclaimed land. If there are two characters wanting to claim one land, then you'll have to fight or one will have to back down. In order to get the land to be officially yours, you'll have to fill out a form and PM it to Issalyn or REKORRA.
- If a land is claimed but you still wish to get the land, you'll have to post a challenge. After posting a challenge, and the owner of the land does not respond within three days (unless they've posted an absence note), you automatically win/get the land.
for YOUR CHARACTER CREATION.
- This site is not realistic, therefore, you'll get unrealistic things. What kind of "things" are you talking about? We're talking about abnormal traits, powers, abilities, and colors. Please read further in this rule section to find out more about each topic.
- Abnormal Traits. The major traits: Large/usable wings, talons instead of hooves (or any other extreme feet changes), usable gills, lizard tail in place of normal tail (or anything extreme like that), large/several horns, or anything that alters bone structure. The minor traits: Forked Tongue, slightly different ear shape, slightly altered hair style (longer/shorter), slightly different eye shape, a small horn or other adornment.
- Powers. Powers are listed here.
- Unique Colors. Equines on this site are allowed to have unique coat (base, mane&tail) colors as well as unique eye colors. What we do not accept are characters with neon/vivid colors or even rainbow. We will tolerate a black horse with white mane/tail or blue with tinted grey. Something like that. Same goes for the eye colors.
our LAST WORDS.
- Rules can be added/changed/removed at anytime. Please check often to see if any rules have been added/changed/removed.
- Do not steal work from this site.
- Do not steal others' works. If you are using an image, please credit them properly and make sure you ask for permission.
- Please make sure your avatars do not stretch our forum. Same goes for the signatures. Do not have it so it fills up one whole page.
- Have fun!
